The police have arrested five suspected cultists in Gboko local council of Benue state.
The suspects were arrested following raids on drinking joints by the police.
This was made Known by the spokesperson of the Benue police command, DSP Catherine Anene in the state on Monday.
Anene said the move was to crackdown cult members disrupting peace in the area.
She also confirmed arrest of some people in the raids which is still ongoing on alleged criminal hideouts.
She added that five people from the raid will soon be charged to court after investigation.
The crackdown on the cultists followed after five people were killed following clashes by rival cults in the past week.
AllNews gathered that four of the people killed were hacked in Makurdi, the state capital.
