The deadly accident that occurred on Sunday near Umuika junction along the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway has been confirmed by the Abia State Police Command while stating that investigation has commenced into the cause of the fatal accident.
Eleven people, including two newborns, are said to have died in the collision, which included a vehicle and an Abia Line Network Transport LTD Toyota Sienna bus.
In response to a message from the Daily Post, ASP Maureen Chinaka, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Abia State Police Command, acknowledged that her office had received the incident report.
She stated that the disaster was still being investigated, but she withheld information regarding the precise number of victims or their identities.
The victims' bodies have since been brought to a mortuary for the time being.
