Police Begin Manhunt For Killers Of APC Chieftain

Police In Imo State have commenced a manhunt for the killers of a retired military officer and Chieftain of the APC, Tony Enoch.

Enoch who was the Chairman of the Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shettima Campaign Council Oru East Local Government Area was murdered on Tuesday.

He is a kinsman of the Governor of Imo State, Chief Hope Uzodimma as they hailed from the same local government area.

Spokesman of the Police in the state, ASP Henry Okoye said the victim was shot while he was returning home from an APC stakeholders’ meeting.

“He was shot dead by suspected members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the armed group of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).”

Okoye told the News Agency of Nigeria that the Commissioner of Police in Imo has ordered a search and the arrest of the assailants.

The armed men were said to have forced the remains of their victim into the boot of his car after taking his life.

After they abandoned the car close to Awo-Omama Technical College, a villager noticed blood dropping from the boot of the vehicle.

The citizen raised an alarm which attracted other members of the community to the scene.
