The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspected kidnappers in Birnin Yauri of the state.
The suspects were charged with alleged criminal conspiracy and kidnapping.
The State's Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji-Kontagora made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria.
The commissioner said one of the suspects identified as 25-year-old Garba Musa of Tashan Alura Village from neighbouring Niger was intercepted by men of the Birnin Yauri Division.
The policemen who were on a patrol arrested the suspect who was conveying one 20-year-old Amira Adamu of Tsafe local government area of Zamfara state on a motorcycle.
According to the Commissioner, “When interrogated, the said Garba Musa confessed to being a member of a gang of kidnappers led by one Ya’u, who is still at large.
“The strength of the gang according to him, is eight in number and they have two AK47 rifles.
“In the course of the investigation, one Hamisu Sule, alias Hola, from Zamfara was also arrested in connection with the case."
The commissioner further stated that the two suspects would be taken to court upon completion of the investigation by the command.
