Police Kill Bandit in Military Uniform In Kaduna, Recover Weapons

The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the killing of one bandit in military uniform along Galadimawa Kidandan road in Giwa local government area of the state.

The police also recovered an AK49 assault rifle, a locally made long-range revolver and its 12 cartridges alongside an operational motorcycle.

The command's spokesperson, Mohammed Jalige, in a statement said the bandit was eliminated in the early hours of Thursday.

He said security operatives acted upon a distress call that bandits were sighted along the road.

“The Operatives engaged the hoodlums with clinical precision and succeeded in countering the bandits’ mission as they were compelled to retreat into the forest with some sustaining bullet injuries while one other was gunned down, his AK49 assault rifle and operational motorcycle recovered."

He added that the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police praised the officers for a successful mission.

He disclosed that while the officers work towards achieving a safer Kaduna State, they must maintain the momentum in the fight against insecurity.
