Police Nab 67-Year-Old Man For Allegedly Defiling Minor In Lagos

A 67-year-old man identified as Usein Ali has been apprehended by officials of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in the Ijora Badia area of the state.

It was reported that the incident happened On Thursday, June 11, 2020, at about 2.30 pm when the victim, who was sent on an errand came back rather too late.  After being questioned, the victim explained how she was forcefully dragged and sexually abused by Ali

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said one Izawaka Mohammed of No. 9 Sango Street, Ijora Badia, reported the case to the station.

He said the victim had been taken to the Mirabel Centre for treatment, while Ali has been transferred to the gender unit of the command for discreet investigation.

Elkana stated, “On Thursday, June 11, 2020, around 2.30 pm, one Izawaka Mohammed of No. 9 Sango Street, Ijora Badia, reported that a 12-year-old girl was sent on an errand and it took her some hours before she returned. While questioning her for returning late, the victim confessed that one Usein Ali, 67, forcefully took her into a room and had carnal knowledge of her.

“The victim was referred to the Mirabel Centre in Ikeja for treatment. The suspect will be transferred to the gender office of the command for discreet investigation.”
