The Nigerian police has recorded success in arresting the kidnappers who abducted and killed students of Greenfield University and Bethel Baptist school Kaduna last year.
The force PRO, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi made the disclosure while parading the suspects.
Adejobi disclosed that the kidnappers were arrested sometimes in March, 2022 while operating on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.
They however confessed to several kidnappings in the state and part of the gang that abducted and killed the Bethel Baptist school and Greenfield University students.
The suspects were identified as Aminu Lawal (a.k.a. Kano) who deputizes a notorious kidnapper, Yellow Ashana, Murtala Dawu known as Mugala.
Mugala has been known for kidnapping, rape and other atrocities along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
The force PRO added that Kano and Mugalu extended their nefarious operations to Niger State, and Nassarawa.
"They kidnapped and killed two policemen and one vigilante sometimes last year.
“They were part of the kidnappers, who kidnapped the Greenfield students and killed about five of the victims before ransom was paid to them.
"They also kidnapped Bethel Baptist students sometimes last year.
“They confessed to have carried out several kidnaps in Dan hunu, Kekebi, Danbusha, Rido, Maraba Riddo and Kumi Sata, Kaduna state."
The PRO explained further that the police has since been tracking the suspects ever since their names were mentioned by some suspects during interrogation.
