A 27-year-old housewife has been paraded by the Police in Ibadan for allegedly stabbing her husband to death over sex demand.

Spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, while speaking with journalists, alleged that the housewife was responsible for her husband’s murder by stabbing him in the chest.

Osifeso revealed that the deceased tried to have sexual intercourse with his wife on November 16, 2022, at their home in Oko-Oba, Oyo town, but she objected, and she stabbed him.

He claimed that the suspect’s husband picked up the wife’s phone during their quarrel and shattered it on the ground because of her resistance.

"In the act of vengeance, the suspect grabbed a knife and fatally stabbed the victim in the chest."

He had earlier disclosed that the deceased and the suspect had reconciled and went home together on the day of the incident having been apart for three months due to a misunderstanding.

Osifeso said the suspect had admitted guilt and would be formally charged once the inquiry was over.

She was one of the twenty-five people brought out for parade after being accused of murder, armed robbery, burglary, theft, cultism, kidnapping, or conspiracy.

Also paraded were nine alleged cultists, all armed with firearms, cutlasses, and other lethal weapons.

They had before their arrests planned to cause havoc among the residents of the Ilupeju community along the New Oyo-Ogbomoso Expressway.

Osifeso claimed that the cultists were apprehended on November 5, 2022, due to reliable anti-crime surveillance and information.

According to him, the suspects’ stash included two locally made firearms, two live cartridges, one facemask, two Bajaj motorcycles, and a Mazda bus.
