Police Re-Arrest Prime Suspect In Ogun Couple's Murder

Operatives of the Ogun State Police have re-arrested the prime suspect in the murder of the Ogun couple who were gruesomely murdered on New Year Day in their home.

Lekan, the prime suspect was re-arrested on Sunday at his hideout at Warewa within the state after he was tracked.

The Oyun couple; Kehinde and Bukola Fatinoye, were murdered on New Year day while their son, Oreoluwa and their housemaid were also kidnapped.

Oreoluwa was later discovered to have drowned in the Ogun River while the housemaid escaped with injuries.

In police detention, the housemaid revealed that the couple's driver identified as Lekan was part of the gang who took part in the murder of her bosses.

She disclosed to the police that she identified the face of Lekan.

The driver, Lekan was subsequently taken into custody as a prime suspect in the murder, but escaped few days after his arrest.

Lekan’s escape had resulted in a tensed atmosphere at the police headquarters with pressures from different angles calling for his swift apprehension and prosecution to justice.

"The Lekan guy involved in this case has been re-arrested.

"It was probably the fear of what may happen to him that made him escape.

"This event may cause a shakeup at the headquarters and the CP may he leaving his office," an anonymous police source revealed.

All attempts to get the Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi to confirm the development proved abortive as of the time of filling this report.
