Police Rescues 48 Kidnapped Kano Traders In Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command declared that it's officers have rescued 48 kidnapped Kano-bound traders at Udawa village in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

Earlier on Wednesday, kidnappers had abducted over 70 Kano bound traders and the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammad Jalige, Thursday, said the escort team that accompanied the traders actually reinforced and engaged the kidnappers as they've recovered 48 of the victims.

He added that the bandits were attacked and ran with bullets wound as the police officers overpowered them.

His statements read, “On the 22nd of December, 2021, a team of Policemen escorting a convoy of traders from Udawa village, Kano, to Kaduna came under gunshots attack by bandits which led to the kidnap of 78.

“However, the escort team reinforced themselves and engaged the bandits in a tactical pursuit in order not to harm the victims. This forced the bandits to retreat, abandoning the victims and ran with gunshot wounds."

“The operatives succeeded in rescuing 48 people to safety, as they were subsequently escorted to their destination safely."
