The Zamfara State Police Command said five kidnapped victims have been rescued in its continued search and rescue operations across the state.
In a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, the victims who were abducted on January 7, and February 3, 2022 are now safe with security operatives.
“Four of the victims held from Zuru LGA of Kebbi State but were abducted along Yankara - Tsafe road, while the other victim was abducted in Kontagora LGA of Niger state," the statement added.
It affirmed that all victims were rescued unconditionally during extensive search and rescue operations conducted at lunch ginkgo forest in Tsafe LGA. The rescued victims have undergone medical treatment and have been debriefed by the Police.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba N. Elkanah who sympathised with the victims of what they must have passed through in captivity also assured people of the state of intensified efforts to keep them safe.
