Police Rescue Three Women, Eliminate Terrorists In Katsina

Following a distress call, the Nigerian Police Force in Katsina state have repelled terrorists' attack on Garin Zaki Village of Batsari Local Government Area.

The police also rescued three women while recovering weapons from the terrorists.

The spokesperson of the Katsina State police command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident.

He said the incident which happened on April 25, 2022, led to the abduction of the three women and rustling of cattles.

He further explained that the terrorists invaded the village on motorcycles, shooting sporadically.

He added that the prompt response by the police alongside the vigilantes repelled the attack while rescuing the women and recovered 15 cattles.

In another development, the police also repelled another attack by terrorists the same day at Kurfi Local Government Area of the state.

The police successfully eliminated one of the terrorists while wounding many who escaped after the intense fire.

Arms and ammunitions were recovered from the terrorists, including animals that were rustled.

While assuring the public that the police would continue to work tirelessly towards restoring peace, the Katsina State Police Commissioner, CP Idrisu Dabban Dauda, appreciated the efforts of his men and the vigilantes in the success recorded so far.

He further called on the public to feed security agencies with necessary information that would help in bringing the terrorists to book.
