Police Take Over  Edo Assembly Complex

Men of the Nigerian police force, Thursday, barricaded the Edo state House of Assembly complex in Benin, the state capital.

According to reports, Dozens of the security officials, led by the Deputy commissioner of police (Operations), stormed the assembly complex on Thursday morning with their patrol vehicle.

Allnews gathered that the move was triggered by a reported threat of an attack on the facility following impeachments in the House..

Present at the Assembly include operatives of the Police Mobile Force and Operation Thunderstorm.

Not long after the arrival of the police at the facility, men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) also arrived at the complex.

The move by the police is  coming less than 24 hours after the impeachment of the deputy speaker of the House, Yekini Idaiye.
