Police Uncovers Baby Factory, Rescues Pregnant Women In Delt

The Nigerian police has recorded success in discovering a baby factory while rescuing three pregnant women in Okpanam of Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The police also arrested suspects from the factory.

Confirming the incident on Thursday in a statement, the Delta state police command through its spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe said police personnel from the State Investigation Department (SID) conducted the operation that led to the success recorded. 

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the statement reads, “Acting on information, on July 10, 2022, at about 7.30pm, operatives of the State Investigation Department stormed a baby factory in Okpanam community, Oshimili North LGA.

“The operatives rescued three pregnant women and two suspects; Promise Ejogu and Aruna Sulieman were arrested.

“Information gathered by the police revealed that one of the suspects, Promise Ejogu, is a brother to the ring leader of the syndicate.

“The syndicate kept the women and engages them in sexual activities to get them pregnant."

He added that all the suspects arrested are in custody as investigation continues while a manhunt for the other suspects has been launched.
