    The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the announcement of the gubernatorial election results.

    The electoral body postponed the announcement in the early hours of Sunday due to the late arrival of results from different centres across the twenty local governments of the state.

    INEC had adjourned collation till 9 am on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

    The gubernatorial election in the state had Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the incumbent governor of the state and Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as leading contenders.
