Popular Hisbah Official In Trouble For Meeting Married Woman in Hotel

The Kano State Hisbah Board has set up a five-man panel to investigate its official, Sani Uba Rimo, for being found with a married woman in a hotel.

Rimo, who is the Official in Charge of Anti-Begging, was apprehended by the Police in Downtown Hotel in Sabon Gari area of Kano metropolis on Monday night.

The Public Relations Officer of the Board, Lawal Ibrahim, told journalists that the committee had been given three days to complete its investigation and submit its report to the board for necessary action.

He added that the board would take necessary disciplinary action against the officer after the investigation.

“But if the outcome of the investigation or the recommendations are beyond the power of the board, it will forward the same to the appropriate authority for necessary action,” he said.

Rimo was reportedly arrested after a complaint was lodged by the husband of the woman with whom he allegedly had an affair in the hotel.

On the whereabouts of the arrested officer, the PRO of the board said the officer had been released until after the investigation as the offence had not been established.
