The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has explained that the low supply being experienced in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States was due to decreased supply from the national grid.
According to the management, the national grid based on reports is currently generating 1, 357MW or a little more and out of that KEDCO is allocated 150MW, which is shared amongst the three states, including industrial and residential feeders.
In a statement signed by KEDCO's Head of Corporate Communication, Ibrahim Sani Shawai on Friday, the company said it has to ensure that the 150MW was distributed fairly and justly to ensure that one state does not benefit more than the other.
"However, we are monitoring events keenly to ensure that any improvement from the national grid gets to Kano coverage areas," the statement added.
"While assuring all our esteem customers of improved supply as soon as things get better, we solicit customers' understanding as the state of supply is not deliberate."
