Heung Son Min
Tottenham coach Antonio Conte is delighted with Heung Son Min's response to being dropped from the starting lineup after he scored a hat-trick against Leicester City on Sunday in the Premier League.
Son came off the bench to open his goalscoring account in the 2022-23 season with a flourish to help Tottenham to a 6-2 win over Leicester City.
He had gone eight games in all competitions without scoring for Spurs.
Conte opted to start him from the bench with summer signing Richarlison partnering Harry Kane in attack, and he responded with a match-winning performance.
"I am really happy for Sonny today, you know what I think of the player," Conte told Sky Sports.
"I said to him if you're going to score three goals in 30 minutes, maybe we can repeat this experiment, but I was joking.
"I'm lucky, I have a really good group of players that are really good people.
"We have to start thinking in a different way if we are going to make the next step."
"I was a player. Every player wants to play every game, but you lose physical energy and mental energy.
"Sometimes you don't understand this and think you can play, but the performance goes down.
"Rotation is good for the team and for player welfare.
"If you give energy and you play in the way Son played, everyone is happy."
Son replaced Richarlison in the 59th minute, he scored his first goal in the 73rd minute with an unstoppable finish before scoring another with his left foot 11 minutes later.
He completed his 14-minute hat-trick with a super finish from a Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg through ball.
Son is now the first Tottenham player to score a Premier League hat-trick as a substitute.
