Premier League Goal: Top performers of week

Premier League Trophy

The English Premier League produced some exemplary performances as the action took centre stage in the English scene.

However, with Manchester City taking on Liverpool, much was expected while Chelsea travelled to St. James Park to face Newcastle United.

In the end, we witnessed some clear individual goals/top performances in the English top lights as the case may be.

Even as Allnews. ng takes a look at the key performance of some of these players as initially stated above.

Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United)

Manchester United’s prodigy was on hand to storm the whole world with his overhead kick against Everton.

It was a spectacular goal especially as the goal scorer is still 19 years of age.

Much has been said about the goal with legendary figures like Roy Keane and Gary Neville comparing the goal to that of Wayne Rooney’s winning goal against rival Manchester City in the Manchester Derby.

That was in 2011 when Wayne Rooney's similar kind of goal separated both Manchester sides at Old Trafford.

Rooney was assisted on that occasion by Portuguese winger Luis Nani who whipped in a cross from the right wings for Rooney to do the damage against Manchester City.

But it seems like Garnacho's goal was even better according to Gary Neville who was even on the pitch when Rooney got the winner for Manchester United on that occasion.

Raheem Sterling (Chelsea)

The English star Raheem Sterling has been impressive for the West London (Chelsea) side this term.

And with Chelsea a goal (1-0) down and needing a respite away from home, Sterling scored a brilliant free kick.

It was sheer class as Sterling bent the ball over the wall to draw Chelsea level (1-1) at St. James Park. It was astonishing.

I hope Gareth Southgate is watching given the EURO 2024 draws that would take place on Friday,1st December 2023.

Michael Olise (Crystal Palace)

The talented star Olise who would be linked to some of the best teams in Europe scored a beauty of a goal in the match against Luton Town.

The way he ran around the entire Luton defence shows what he’s capable of doing with more experience when he moves to a big club.

Can Nigeria get Michael Olise to improve the Super Eagles midfield which has been on a long struggle?

Maybe Nigeria fans will have to pray much more for this to come to pass as he's really needed by the three-time African Champions.

Giovani Lo Celso (Tottenham Hotspur)

The Argentine midfielder opened the scoring against Aston Villa but was unlucky as his side lost the game 1-2 in the London Derby contest.

He got his goal following a corner kick into the box which bounced into his path to volley home the opening goal of the game.

Argentine playmaker Lo Celso scored in the 22nd minute to give Spurs a 1-0 lead against Aston Villa at home.

It was a goal of special quality as we witnessed amazing stuff when both sides faced each other in the Premier League.
