President of Senegal, Macky Sall, in response to the agitations of families whose relatives died overseas, has requested that bodies of Senegalese nationals who died from the COVID-19 virus abroad be allowed back into the country.
Earlier, the government of Senegal had prohibited the evacuation of corpses of people who died from coronavirus, in a bid to curb the spread of the virus in the West African nation.
Earlier in May, aggrieved families had fought the ban on the returning of dead Senegalese nationals, with the government following medical guidelines.
