President Approves Repatriation Of Senegalese Nationals Kill

President of Senegal, Macky Sall, in response to the agitations of families whose relatives died overseas, has requested that bodies of Senegalese nationals who died from the COVID-19 virus abroad be allowed back into the country.

Earlier, the government of Senegal had prohibited the evacuation of corpses of people who died from coronavirus, in a bid to curb the spread of the virus in the West African nation.

Earlier in May, aggrieved families had fought the ban on the returning of dead Senegalese nationals, with the government following medical guidelines.

Addressing the nation, the president lifted the earlier imposed ban, also easing strict measures.

Son of a Senegalese national who died of coronavirus in Paris said that he had been anticipating the ban lift.

He said, “The most important thing is that my father is buried according to his wishes.
