President Buhari To Commission Lagos Airport Terminal On Tuesday

Diversion of traffic has been announced by the Lagos State government as President Muhammadu Buhari visits the state on Tuesday for the inauguration of the new International Terminal at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.

The event which has been scheduled to begin at 8 am will run until 12 noon.

The diversion of traffic was disclosed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, who stated that the movement of the VIPs and traffic management of the event led to the plan for alternative routes.

Oladeinde also revealed that motorists from Apapa/Oshodi would be able to ply Agege Motor Road to link PWD connecting Works Road or General Adeyinka Adebayo Road to access Oba Akinjobi inward Ikeja General Hospital and then connect Local Airport through the underpass.

Motorists plying the Agege Motor Road have also been instructed to link Charity by the Armed Resettlement Centre on the service lanes and make a U-turn at Cappa/Bolade axis inwards Shogunle to access PWD to continue their journey.

Oladeinde further said that Maryland/Mobolaji Bank Anthony would be open to motorists to link the Local Airport and access Muritala Muhammed Airport.

He added that motorists can pass through Third Mainland Bridge inwards Gbagada to connect Ikorodu/Maryland to reach the Airports as an alternate route.

The Commissioner assured members of the public that officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) posted in the alternative routes would help motorists in their navigation to ensure the easy flow of traffic.
