President Of France, Emmanuel Macron Tests Positive For COVI

France President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for COVID-19, as disclosed by the French Government.

It stated, "The President of the Republic has been diagnosed positive for COVID-19 today.

"This diagnosis was made following an PCR (sic) test performed at the onset of the first symptoms."

Macron will be going into self-isolation in accordance with COVID-19 protocols but will "continue to work and carry out his activities remotely", the statement by the French Government stated. All planned trips of the president will be cancelled, including his planned trip to Lebanon.

The office of the president is working to identify all those who may have come into contact with him to alert them of the current development.

Macron is among some of the world's leaders to have been infected by the virus.

Other leaders that have contracted the virus include the President of the United States Donald Trump and some members of his family.

The President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, also contracted the virus, testing positive for the virus three times.

Others include the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin, the Chief Brexit Negotiator of Brexit, Michel Barnier, among others.
