President Ruto Issues Stern Warning To Bandits

President Ruto On Friday, March 10, 2023, in Lanet, Nakuru County, during the Officer Cadets Commissioning Parade at the Kenya Military Academy.

The Government of President Ruto in Kenya has fired a warning shot at criminals saying it will be decisive in dealing with them.

President William Ruto stated that the dangerously misguided notion that people can acquire illegal weapons and mobilise to commit criminal acts must be abandoned.

He mentioned banditry and cattle rustling as examples of criminal activities that the government has pledged to put an end to.

He made the remarks during the Officer Cadets Commissioning Parade at the Kenya Military Academy on Friday in Lanet, Nakuru County.

The President expressed regret that armed bandits have held parts of the country hostage for many generations.

"We will be ruthless in stamping out banditry. "Every bandit who defies the government and attempts any criminal act will be neutralized," he said.

He insisted on holding every bandit accountable.

"Every illegal gun must be surrendered, either willingly or coercively, and every child must return to school," he added.

President Ruto directed the military to collaborate with the Ministry of Education to rebuild all destroyed schools so that students can continue to learn.
