The news comes from The Associated Press and comes on the heels of Buckingham Palace announcing plans for the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh who passed away on Friday, April 9, at the age of 99.
Prince Philip will be laid to rest on April 17, 2021, at Windsor Castle. Meghan, who is pregnant with her second child with Prince Harry, has been advised by doctors not to travel for the event.

The funeral will be a family affair that will be closed to the public. The palace reveals that Prince Philip himself was a part of the planning of the funeral, and he asked for a private ceremony.
The palace maintains that the service will adhere to COVID-19 guidelines. A palace spokesperson to the AP: "While there is sadness that the public will not be able to physically be part of events to commemorate the life of the duke, the royal family asks that anyone wishing to express their condolences do so in the safest way possible by not visiting Windsor or any other royal palaces to pay their respects.
"The family's wish is very much that the people continue to follow the guidelines to keep themselves and others safe."
Following Prince Philip's death, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle paid tribute to him via their Archewell Foundation: "In loving memory of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh... Thank you for your service... You will be greatly missed,"
