Prioritise Youth Empowerment Programmes, Don Urges FG, Stake

Prof. Kayode Ijadunola, a former provost at the College of Health Sciences at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has advised the Federal Government and stakeholders to give priority to youth empowerment programmes.

Ijadunola gave the advice at the Star to Stardom (S2S) Empowerment Initiative's Grand Launch on Tuesday at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)'s ICT Main Conference Hall in Ile-Ife.

For the less fortunate to lead meaningful lives, he emphasised the need for the three tiers of government, NGOs, donors, stakeholders, groups, and individuals to support them.

Victor Adebayo, the Founder of Diversity Talent Management Limited, Lagos, who was also the Guest Speaker at the event, lauded the NGOs for helping the disadvantaged in a time like this.

The Founder noted that the would have been a better place “if we have people like Omopariola, who utilised their resources to care for the less privilege.”

He further stated that this program would significantly improve the quality of life and lower crime rates.

Also speaking, Daniel Omopariola, the Director of Star to Stardom, stated that the program was just what the public needed at the correct time.

He insisted that the government cannot solve the problem on its own, urging well-meaning Nigerians to do their part to advance humanity.

According to him, the recipients received four weeks of instruction in computer programming, cosmetology, catering, fashion design, graphic design, printing and press, and photography.

He noted that a lot of people are struggling and finding life difficult, adding that some of them have even given up hope completely and believe that nothing good can ever leave the nation again.

He promised that poverty will be completely abolished with no effort on the part of the masses to acquire Star to Stardom talents.

The Director urged them to follow through on their commitments in life and strive to imitate the Star to Stardom Foundation's efforts to help the less fortunate.

Miss Ajayi Taiwo, one of the recipients, praised Star to Stardom Foundation for providing hope to the helpless.

Over 100 young individuals are empowered by Star to Stardom, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
