Qualcomm To Release Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 To Midrange Phones

Qualcomm has unveiled its newest processor "Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset" which is designed to power a wide selection of mid-priced phones including Redmi and Realme.

The chipset isn't quite as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, as you might assume, but it seems to give a significant improvement over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

According to Qualcomm, the Processor will operate at up to 2.91GHz and enhance performance by more than 50%.

The business asserts that the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 would provide enhancements in GPU performance (by two times) and power efficiency (by 13 per cent).

Furthermore, according to Qualcomm, "on-device AI is integrated across the entire platform."

Qualcomm stated that you may anticipate an increase in AI performance of more than double and a 40% improvement in performance per watt.

According to reports, AI Super Resolution can scale images and video game graphics from 1080p to 4K quality.

Volumetric rendering, which provides particle images like smoke and fog, is one of the additional gameplay capabilities.

According to Qualcomm, auto variable rate shading should assist increase performance and power by rendering in-focus material at full resolution and keeping the background of a scene at a lesser resolution.

Qualcomm aptX and Snapdragon Sound will also provide lag-free gaming audio and lossless music streaming.

The processor offers simultaneous dual-camera HDR video capture with triple exposure and photo capture up to 200MP.

With 18-bit Triple ISP support, it might be simpler to take better pictures in extremely low light.

According to Qualcomm, handsets running the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 can take 30 shots and combine the best elements into one to give you photos that are brighter, clearer, and more colourful.

With regard to connectivity, the new X62 5G modem supports dual SIMs for 4G and 5G and offers data network transfer speeds of up to 4.4 Gbps.

Qualcomm claims that the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 will support WiFi download speeds of up to 3.6 Gbps.
