As we head into another long and predictably painful appeal case between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber heard, here are some facts that you might not have heard before about the 'Pirates Of The Caribbean star.

1. Chocolate Allergy

As a child, Johnny Depp was allergic to chocolate. He even suffered from rashes due to the allergy when he was seven years old.

The biggest irony here is when we look back and realize he played the Willy Wonka character in 'Charlie and The Chocolate Factory'. Pretty bizarre right?

2. Scary Early Beginnings:

Long before Depp became an A-list Hollywood superstar - and even further before he became a controversial figure due to his contentious divorce from Amber Heard - he debuted on the big screen as Glen Lantz, the surprisingly sensitive jock boyfriend to original Nightmare on Elm Street heroine Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp).

Who knew Johnny was part of the cast that made sure fans' nights were scary?

3. His Big Break

In 2003, he became famous for the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl'.

He has since then gone on to become one of the biggest names and most loved characters in cinematic history.

4. Certified Finesse

Depp belongs to the elite group of sexy men who won the title of 'Sexiest Man Alive' two times.

He was first named SMA in 2003 and won again in 2009. Other actors who are also double winners are certified heartthrobs Richard Gere, George Clooney, and Brad Pitt.

5. Remarkably Charitable

After his daughter was sick, he dressed up as Jack Sparrow, read stories to the children, and donated £1,000,000 to Great Ormond Street Hospital.
