American singer R. Kelly may be looking at life imprisonment after he was convicted on Monday in a sex trafficking trial following accusations from different women.
The I Believe I Can Fly crooner was found guilty of racketeering by a jury made up of seven men and five women on their second day of deliberations.
The trial which has received widespread media attention saw different individuals give testimonies in shocking detail, disclosing how the famous singer subjected them to acts of perversion when they were underage.

The jury gave the verdict after a nine-hour deliberation, finding the 54-year-old celebrity guilty of systematically recruiting women and teenagers for sex, before grooming and brutally abusing them.
Kelly appeared wearing a pinstriped navy suit, a white mask, and a light blue tie. He remained still while keeping his head down and closing his eyes from time to time.
He faces up to life in prison and his sentencing is set to take place on May 4, 2022.
