On the family members left behind, Durojaiye added: "They should take heart and they should continue in the stead of our late sister.

"They should be forthright, they should be committed to whatever they're doing. They should be strong. Our sister Rachel was a very strong woman. They should be strong.

The Vice-President of the guild, Chief Femi Branch called the late star a "pillar", saying, "When I say that Rachel Oniga is a pillar, I'm not using it in the past tense.

"It is because she has left an enduring legacy. This is somebody that played the role of an elder to the hilt. Whenever they was any issue or anything, Aunty Rachel was at the forefront.

"I remember when we were having the Lagos State elections... Aunty Rachel was one of the reasons where we had the model election in the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

"That was the kind of person she was. She was always here, there to make sure that things were working, to make sure there was peace...

"She fought for peoples' rights. She was somebody that defended you. Rachel would defend you. Once she believes in your cause, she would stand and defend you.

"So, the Actors Guild of Nigeria is in deliberations right now to see what we can do. We celebrate every life but there are some people that have made such an impact in the industry that their passing cannot be allowed to go just like that.

"Definitely, we're in deliberations and you will hear that plans, just like I assured the children in there that the legacy of their mother will never be forgotten by the AGN. And that is a promise that we intend to keep."
