Popular journalist and owner of Agidigbo FM, Ibadan, Oriyomi Hamzat, has called on popular human rights lawyer, Femi Falana to ensure that the charges against Rahmon Adedoyin and his accomplices remain unchanged as the case begins afresh in Osogbo.
Speaking in a viral video, the journalist called on Falana to ensure that the charges against Rahmon Adedoyin were not tampered with by unscrupulous persons to ensure that justice is obtained for the Adegokes who lost their beloved son.
Recall that earlier this month, Falana had written to the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba requesting a transfer of the suspects involved in the mysterious death of Timothy Adegoke from an Abuja court to a competent court in Osun State.
Hamzat noted that after the case was transferred from Abuja to Osun State, the case would now hold on March 3, 2022 at the Osogbo High Court 1 and would be presided over by the Chief Judge of the state.
The Nigeria Police has charged the owner of Hilton hotel, Rahmon Adedoyin, and six others before an Abuja High Court over the murder of Timothy Adegoke, an MBA student of the Obafemi Awolowo University who died mysteriously at the hotel on November 6, 2021.
According to the case summary and proof of evidence filed by the police, Adedoyin is being charged with illegally disposing of Adegoke’s body, altering and cancelling his payment receipt and removal of the hotel’s CCTV cameras with intent to destroy evidence.
Others charged with Adedoyin are Adedeji Adesola, aged 23; Magdalene Chiefuna, aged 24; Adeniyi Aderogba, aged 37; Oluwale Lawrence, aged 37; Oyetunde Kazeem, aged 38; Adebayo Kunle, aged 35, and others still at large.
