Ramadan: Have Nigeria In Mind During Supplication — Peter Obi To Muslims

Ramadan: Have Nigeria In Mind During Supplication — Peter

Peter Obi has sent a message to the Muslim faithful as they begin the fasting period of Ramadan.

The Labour Party presidential candidate in the just-concluded election spoke via his Twitter account on Thursday, urging citizens to have the country in mind as they engage in supplication.

While pointing out how the Ramadan period begins at a time when the 40-day Lent season of the Christians enters its 26th day, Obi prayed that Nigerians practising both religions would find time to mitigate the sins of the nation.

He concluded the post by wishing Muslims a blessed season.

"During this very sombre time in our nation’s political history, I would like to enjoin our Muslim brothers and sisters as you begin the one-month fasting, praying, and alms-giving during this holy month of Ramadan to have our dear country in mind as you ask for the forgiveness of our numerous shortcomings and transgressions and seek for a special blessing for peace and Justice in our nation.

"Very striking is the fact that this year’s Ramadan is starting at the time when the Christians are 26 days into their 40 days Lenten season which also involves fasting, praying and charity.

"I pray that the supplications the adherents of the two religions will offer at this very special time will help to mitigate our sins as a nation, bring peace and harmony, and help our journey to salvation", he penned.
