Some of the residents who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Kano said they were very happy about such kind gesture.
Usman Abdullahi, a resident of Tarauni area of Kano, described the donation by the NGOs as timely and effective.

According to him, “A non-governmental organization, Widi Jalo Foundation, and another, Today’s Life foundation, came to our area and distributed raw food items.”
Another resident of Hotoro area, Musbahu Aliyu, said the action of organizations in complimenting with food during Ramadan was commendable.
He explained that he had also benefitted from food donations from Helping the Needy Foundation earlier in the month.
He said if many NGOs and wealthy individuals could venture more into such distributions, people would easily have access to food.
Umma Auwal, a widow and a mother of four, praised the assistance by organizations in Kano saying it was really helpful.

NAN reports that the Coordinator of Today’s Life Foundation, Hajiya Mansura Isa, said that the foundation received food donations from philanthropists and distributed them to residents during Ramadan.
She disclosed that there were many people willing to donate food items but they found it difficult to do so by themselves.
She said that they identified with some NGOs and entrusted distribution to them.
