The governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum has distributed food items and cash to causal workers of the state government house.
While urging them to pray for the full restoration of peace in the state, Zulum also distributed clothes to the workers and their spouses.
Those who benefited from the governor's gesture include 168 casual workers in the government house, 68 cleaners and 53 workers under the Borno State Environmental Protection Agency (BOSEPA).
Zulum further appreciated the workers for keeping the government house clean among others.
He added that for all they have been doing, they (the workers) deserve more.
He said, “I must say that I’m proud of all of you for the hard work you’re putting in to ensure the cleanliness and effective maintenance of the Government House.
“This is Ramadan and charity begins at home.
"That’s why I decided to support you with foodstuff and some funds to support your selves and your family in this holy month."
The workers benefitted from 50kg of rice each, 10kg of sugar,5litres of cooking oil, 2kg of beef, clothes and the cash gift of N20,000 each.
