Rapper DMX Dies At 50

American rapper and actor DMX has died at the age of 50 after he suffered a heart attack owing to a recent drug overdose.

Recall that AllNews Nigeria reported that DMX, whose real name was Earl Simmons, trended on Friday morning as many sent condolence messages as many assumed he was deceased at the time.

His manager had responded to the condolence messages and tributes in a video clip he released on Instagram, saying that his family would make a statement.

Now, the rapper's demise has been confirmed by news outlets, with members of his family saying he was "a warrior who fought till the very end." They added, "Earl's music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever."

DMX was born in New York on December 18, 1970. As a child, he suffered from bronchial asthma and was taken to the hospital on several occasions due to his inability to breathe.

He was a father to fifteen children and spoke openly about his addiction to crack cocaine (which began when he was 14 years old). On April 2, 2021, he was rushed to the hospital after he overdosed on drugs.

DMX's demise was confirmed by his family on Friday, April 9, 2021.
