Legendary rapper Dr Dre has been hospitalized after suffering a brain aneurysm earlier this week. There are indications though, that he is recuperating fast as he issued a statement Tuesday night that he’s “doing great” and expects to “be out of the hospital and back home soon.”

The rapper had said in a post on Instagram that he is getting excellent care from the medical team and thanks to family and friends for their interest and well wishes.

“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”

A brain aneurysm occurs when a weak spot in your brain’s arterial wall bulges and fills with blood. It may also be called an intracranial aneurysm or cerebral aneurysm.

A brain aneurysm is a potentially life-threatening condition that can affect a person at any age. If a brain aneurysm bursts, it’s an emergency situation that can result in a stroke, brain damage, and even death if not treated immediately.

Entertainment website, TMZ reported earlier Tuesday that Dr Dre was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday after suffering the aneurysm but is currently stable.

News of Dr Dre’s hospitalization made the rounds on social media very quickly on Tuesday night, with several celebs wishing him well. Most notably among those was Ice Cube, who tweeted a photo of the pair and wrote, “Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr Dre.”
