Reasons You Must Not Try The Crate Challenge In Nigeria

The internet is currently agog with a new and weird challenge called the Milk Crate Challenge.

Online you can find a burgeoning collection of videos on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and the likes of people stacking crates, trying to climb them like a staircase, and falling, because believe it or not, piles of milk crates don't make for sound structures

On TikTok, videos with the hashtag #milkcratechallenge have racked up over 10 million views, and #cratechallenge has at least 82 million views.

About Milk Crate Challenge

The Crate challenge involves climbing up empty milk crates arranged like a staircase. The arrangement is like a pyramid and participant(s) need to successfully walk through.

The challenge is to move from the beginning of one side down to the other side.

Lots of young and old folks have been partaking in the risky challenge, creating funny memes of people falling and not being able to complete the challenge.

How Did The Crate Challenge Start?

It's unclear how exactly the trend got started, though it seems to have picked up steam over the week.

According to reports, the Milk Crate Challenge began in early August when some people in a park did the challenge, shared the video on Facebook and the boom moved to TikTok, birthing the trend.

The deceptive challenge which at first glance seems easy has led to a lot of broken bones and injuries. But trust Nigerians to make the challenge a hilarious one at that, not minding the risk. Several users have posted hilarious videos of themselves attempting the challenge. Many are trying the challenge on uneven lawns, a hard surface.

Reasons You Must Not Try The Crate Challenge In Nigeria

1. Nigeria practically has a very poor healthcare system for bone fracture and more that may occur while trying the challenge.

2. Milk Crates are required for the challenge and most Nigerian creates are hard, better used for stability. If anyone falls on them, serious injury is inevitable.

3. Dentist Fee is now on the high side. In this case, if the challenger falls and breaks just three teeth, a visit to the dentist may cost you at least N15,000 to N30,000. If an implant is needed, we looking at N150,000 per tooth.#ThinkWell
