Redeemers University Pledges Continued Efforts To Research O

The Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, Prof. Anthony Akinlo has said the institution would continue to be on track to global reckoning on the genomic of infectious diseases both within and outside the country.

Akinlo said this during the Convocation and Award of Degree ceremony at the university auditorium on Thursday in Ede.

He said the University African Center of Excellence for the Geonomics of Infectious Diseases was declared the winner of the 2021 Nigerian Academy of Science Gold Medal price award for research breakthrough and capacity building across the African continent.

According to him, the university recently trained participants in NGS using both Illumina and Oxford Nanopore technology platforms and bioinformatics.

While advising the graduates, the VC urged them to be good ambassadors of the institution in their future endeavours.

Pastor Olukayode Pitan,.Chairman, Board of Trustees, Redeemers University 14th Convocation ceremony, said the graduating students must devote themselves to excellence, bearing in mind that the journey of life is not a marathon and not a race.

Pitan advised them to step out with the armour of the Lord and the laurels they have earned during their stay at the university.

He said the university would continue to invest in human capital investment in order to raise great leaders as a shining testament to God’s Glory.

Also, the Pro-Chancellor, Chairman of Council, Redeemers University, Pastor E. Odeyemi said the university has been recognised within and outside the shores of the country for its talented researchers and continental powerhouse for research in genomics of infectious disease.

Odeyemi further explained that RUN is driven by the passion to always achieved more and also enhanced its reputation both nationally and internationally.

He noted that the 2022 graduates also known as the Diamond set were quality shining lights in their various respective fields.

Odeyemi thanked the gallant academic and non-teaching staff for their commitment to duty, and positive projections of the school brand for making it earn its reputation as a foremost destination for intellectual enterprises in Nigeria.
