Rema Begins The Year With Two-Pack Single — ‘Holiday’,

Rema

Nigerian music sensation Rema has started the year 2023 with a bang, releasing a new two-pack single titled ‘Holiday’ and ‘Reason You’.

This comes shortly after yesterday's announcement that he, Burna Boy, and Tems will headline the NBA All-Star Game halftime show in Utah this Sunday, with an electrifying Afrobeats set.

The two new singles showcase Rema's evolved sound, with 'Holiday' being an uptempo track that reflects on the struggles and sacrifices he has made in his life.

The song takes listeners on a journey from his hometown of Benin City to the release of his debut EP in 2019, highlighting his self-belief despite doubts, criticism, and rejection.

The song was produced by Blaisebeatz, who has also produced hits like ‘Buga (Lo Lo Lo)’ by Kizz Daniel and ‘Call Me Every Day’ by Chris Brown featuring Wizkid.

On the other hand, ‘Reason You’ is a mellow track that showcases Rema’s enchanting and meditative vocals.

The song is dedicated to a particular individual who has caught Rema’s eye, with the singer offering his admiration for their dress and personality.

However, Rema questions whether the object of his affection is taken or available, adding a layer of mystery to the song.

Rema’s debut album Rave & Roses was released in March last year, featuring his original, solo version of ‘Calm Down’ among 16 tracks.

With the release of these new singles, Rema continues to push the boundaries of Afrobeats and cement his status as one of Nigeria's most exciting musical talents.
