Rema Celebrates One-Year Anniversary Of Debut Album ‘Rave

Nigerian singer and songwriter Rema recently took to Twitter to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his debut album, ‘Rave & Roses’.

According to the artist, the album is the biggest African debut album of all time and holds a special place in his heart.

Rema expressed his gratitude to his fans for their continued support and love for the project, which he sees as an important pillar of the ‘Rave culture’.

“1 year ago I dropped Rave & Roses, the biggest African debut Album of all time.

“Continue to cherish this project for it represents one of the pillars of our Rave culture, thank you for your undying love & support,” he tweeted.

Rema details love, addiction, and fate on the ‘Rave And Roses’ album which was released in March 2022.

The album contains 16 tracks which feature Chris Brown, Aj Tracey, 6LACK, and Yseult.

In November of 2022, ‘Rave And Roses’ grossed over one billion streams across music streaming platforms.

Rema was presented with the plaque at his 02 Academy Brixton show in London.

Turning to the audience, he said; “This is for you. This belongs to you.

"You deserve it. Fucking one billion streams. Fuck look how far I came.

“I wanna say thank you for your support, for your love.

"Thank you so much for believing in my crazy ideas, my crazy sound,” he continued.

“First day I came out, a lot of people laughed at me. They said I was too different.

“They said my sound was Indian and whatever they called it.

"But each and every one of you in this room believed in that Indian sound.

“And now look at this boy, fucking international star.”
