Rema Speaks On Dedication To His Craft

Nigerian Afrobeat singer Rema has made a statement about his relentless dedication to his craft and the music industry.

Taking to his Instagram story on Sunday evening, the ‘Calm Down’ crooner shared his journey in the music industry, expressing how hard he works to maintain his position as one of Africa's most promising talents.

“God knows how hard I go for the culture.

"So much sweat & blood I put in. The only place I sleep mostly is airplanes & it’s not often I get to see my family,” Rema stated.

He revealed that since the release of his first EP, he has never taken a vacation, and his label recognizes his tireless efforts and hustle.

The artist also spoke about his motivation, emphasizing that he is driven by impact and not just streams and popularity.

“I’ve never had a vacation since my first EP. Even the label knows that I’m a fucking hustler.

"They know that I don’t rest, they know that I’m a silent animal and they respect me,” he added.

Rema further stated that his success is not just a result of luck but rather, years of hard work and God's grace.

“None of this is luck, I’ve been laying bricks for years and God’s grace has been serving me through,” he said.

In conclusion, the young artist declared his independence and control over his music and career; “I am free, I pick my dates & drop what I want, can’t say the same for some. I don’t need to remind you that I’m the future.”
