Nigerian singer Rema has shared how he envisions Afrobeats to be.
Backstage after day two of his concert at O2 Brixton Academy in London, he said that Afrobeats artiste should make their show look like they can do it.
According to him, he is calm off stage but once he is on stage, he gives his best because he wants everybody to get lit.
He said that he does not want Afrobeats to look like a gimmick when it comes to its production and setup.
“It's the first time we are doing this type of shit so we need to make it look like we can fucking do it.
“We don't have to make it look like Afrobeats is growing so it has to be tacky.
“I know I'm calm behind the stage but I'll be raging on stage. I'll be shouting, I'll be cruising.
“I want everybody to get done because I don't want Afrobeats to look like a gimmick when it comes to the production when it comes to the setup.
“I have eyes everywhere and I can hear every fucking thing. I don't want to fuck up.
“Every show back to back all year has been crazy and that's hard work, focus and sacrifice,” he said.
