Remo Stars Boss Rues Defeat Against Nasarawa United

Remo Stars Boss Rues Defeat Against Nasarawa United

Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has expressed his dissatisfaction over his side's failure to seal a win against Nasarawa United.

Ogunmodede described the performance of his players as "inefficient" as the Sky Blue Stars fell to a 2-0 defeat at the New Jos Stadium on Monday.

Joshua John opened the scoring for the Solid Miners in the first eight minutes.

The hosts doubled the lead and put the game beyond the reach of the visitors when Emmanuel Ogbole scored the second two minutes after the break.

The result eased the relegation worries of Bala Nikyu's side as they moved from the bottom spot to eighth position in Group A.

Irked by the defeat, Ogunmodede said: "It's not a favourable result for us. They had an early chance & took it.

"We had ours, never took them. This is not a good way to end the first round.

"My team played to instructions but weren't efficient enough."

As things stand heading into the mid-season break, the Ikenne-based club sit currently in 5th position having failed to win any of their past four matches.
