Remo Stars Crash Out Of CAF Confederations Cup

Nigeria's representative in the 2022-23 CAF Confederations Cup, Remo Stars have crashed out of the competition following a 1-0 loss to ASFAR FC of Morocco in Ikenne, Ogun State on Sunday.

Remo Stars fought gallantly to earn a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Morocco.

The hosts made one change to the team, Ogwuche Mathias took the place of Edidiong Ezekiel.

Remo Stars' evening started on a bad note when Isa Alli hobbled off injured in the 10th minute, he was replaced with Bashiru Monsuru.

Dayo Ojo wasted the hosts' best chance of the first half as both sides tried to cancel out each other.

The first half ended goalless and ASFAR stunned the vociferous home crowd in the 56th minute through Guede Gnadou.

Debutants Remo Stars would rue their wastefulness in front of the goal as they bow out of the competition in the hands of experienced campaigners, ASFAR.

ASFAR will face Guinea's Ashanti Golden Boys in the next round of the competition.
