Remo Stars Sanction Taken As Setback — Ogunmodede

Remo Stars boss Daniel Ogunmodede has said that the sanction imposed on the Ikenne-based club by the Interim Management Committee (IMC) is a mere setback for them.

The Sky Blue Stars were sanctioned on Wednesday by the IMC for the assault on match referee Ndubuisi Ukah and the subsequent disruption of the match against Gombe United on Sunday.

They were docked three points and three goals and also fined N1.25m for the offence.

Reacting to the sanction imposed on the club by IMC, Ogunmodede in an exclusive chat with DAILY POST said the penalty is a setback that his team will strive hard to overcome in order to achieve their goals.

“Though this is a setback toward our goals for the season but we will continue to strive hard towards achieving our goals for the season,” he said.

The gaffer went on to add that his team will conduct themselves in a professional manner moving forward.

“We will continue to act professionally as a team towards the game,” he added.

Remo Stars will next be in action against Shooting Stars in the reverse fixture of the South-West derby in Ibadan on Easter Sunday.
