A rescue operation is ongoing as another three-storey building situated at 32, Ibadan Street, Ebute Metta, Lagos collapsed on Sunday night.
In a statement released by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, it was disclosed that it received an alert at 21:48 hours, added that its officials are already at the scene and search and rescue was ongoing with updates.
According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, (LASEMA) twenty persons have been rescued alive while two who sustained severe injuries were taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for treatment.
LASEMA permanent secretary, Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, said, “Twenty rescued alive out of the victims rescued two sustained severe injuries and have been taken to LASUTH for further treatment.”
Daily Trust reports that four persons, including a woman and her child, have been confirmed dead, and 23 others rescued as search and rescue continues.
