The residents of Dadin Kowa in Gombe State have appealed to their representatives at the national and state levels over the state of an abandoned bridge construction project.

Gadan Dauda — the bridge that has been abandoned for over a year in Dadin-Kowa, Yamaltu-Deba LGA is now threatening livelihoods.

Speaking to Jewel FM, One of the town leaders, Malam Sanusi Mai-lemu, made the call on behalf of the community.

He stated that the inability to complete the construction has brought untold hardship to the people of the town.

One Malam Abdulrazak Tela also raised red flags concerning houses near the bridge, saying they could fall at any time.

Another elder of Garin Dauda, Malam Yau Adamu, said the absence of the bridge had made it difficult for motorists crossing the area.

He added that the loss of the bridge has hampered their businesses with a decline in buying and selling.

He further called on the Gombe State Government and Senator Danjuma Goje for support.
