A fire incident that occurred on Wednesday, at the popular Plank Market in Ebute Metta, Lagos, has sent residents and plank vendors fleeing for safety.
According to reports, hundreds of wooden structures have been destroyed in the fire. It was also gathered that numerous residents were injured while attempting to flee.
Eyewitness reports reveal that the fire erupted along Coates Street, in Ebute Meta.
According to Newsboom, the development has generated significant traffic congestion in Ebute Meta neighborhood, as well as on the route leading to the Third Mainland Bridge.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire is unknown.
