Rihanna Set To Perform At 2023 Super Bowl

Rihanna has confirmed that she is headlining the 2023 Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.

This marks the Barbados singer's first public performance since her appearance with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller at the 2018 Grammy Awards.

The nine-time Grammy winner shared a photo of her holding up an NFL football via her social media pages on Sunday night.

Roc Nation, her management company headed by Jay-Z which is also part of organising the massive NFL halftime showcase, retweeted it soon after.

Fox, which is handling the 2023 broadcast, also confirmed it.

“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn.

"A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever.

"Self-made in business and entertainment,” Jay-Z said in a statement.

This announcement is coming three years after she turned down the invite to perform at the event in 2019.

She rejected the performance invite because of the way Colin Kaepernick, the former 49ers quarterback who has been unable to find a new team since he became a free agent in March 2017, had been treated during that time.

The suit was withdrawn two years later after Kaepernick and the NFL reached a confidential settlement.

Due to his protesting police brutality against Black people by kneeling during the national anthem, Kaepernick claimed that the NFL had blackballed him.

He still remains unsigned.
