Rivers Hoopers get Senegal, Tunisian foes in Basketball Afri

Nigeria's Rivers Hoopers will face US Monastir of Tunisia and AS Douanes of Senegal in a tricky group after the draws were held for the 2024 Basketball Africa League season which is set to tip off on March 9 in South Africa. 

The fourth edition of the BAL season will feature a record 48 games in Pretoria; Cairo Egypt; Dakar, Senegal; and Kigali, Rwanda, marking the first BAL games in South Africa and the first time the league will play games in four different countries. 

A total of 12 teams have been divided into three conferences of four teams each. Seven of the teams have competed in the BAL before, two of which - Petro de Luanda (Angola) and one of Nigeria's opponents, US Monastir (Tunisia). 

Also in Nigeria’s group are regional Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Basketball. 

The top two teams from each conference and the top two third-place teams from across the three conferences will travel to Kigali for four seeding games followed by an eight-game, single-elimination Playoffs and Finals from May 24 to June 1.
