Rivers: Kidnapped APC Campaign Director Gunned Down

Chisom Lennard, the kidnapped Campaign Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada-West Local Government Area of Rivers State has been shot dead by his abductors.

According to reports, Lennard was taken by the gunmen dressed in police uniform while casting his vote in the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections at Ibagwa polling unit 2 ward 10 in Ahoada West LGA.

It was revealed that the APC chieftain was attempting to stop the gunmen from making away with election materials when he was kidnapped.

Lennard's murder was confirmed by the State APC Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju who disclosed that his body was discovered later on Saturday.

“He was abducted from his polling unit during the voting process and taken away.

“Nobody knew where they took him to. It was later in the evening of Saturday that his body was discovered.

“He was APC LGA caretaker chairman and was a PhD student at the Rivers State University”, Nwauju said.

Lennard's body was riddled with bullets along the Ibueahi-Ubeta road in Ahoada+West LGA of the state.
